Carla Jennings
Carla Jennings, Kayak Instructor
“70% of the world is your playground – all you need is a kayak!”
Carla started paddling kayaks in 1996, after watching people paddle on the San Marcos River. She took a kayak class and got hooked and has been an American Canoe Association certified flatwater kayak instructor since 1997.
Carla enjoys paddling in any body of water. She loves the challenges, freedom, peace, and tranquility that kayaking offers. She has paddled lakes, rivers, and coastal waters in Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, California, Maine, New Mexico, Washington, and Alaska. While usually paddling a whitewater kayak, she also enjoys paddling recreational and touring kayaks. When not in her boat, you can find her on her mountain bike, racing for Team Bicycle Sport Shop.
In class, Carla emphasizes flexibility, balance, and efficiency. Anyone can just jump in a kayak, go, and have fun. But if you want to be able to paddle safely and efficiently, then you’ll need to acquire more skills and knowledge. Taking a kayak instruction can help you develop core strength and flexibility, acquire transferable skills, and reach the next level.
Come on down to the lake, and you’ll see how much fun it is to paddle a boat!
