Joy Emshoff is a certified USCA canoe instructor, past president of Texas Outdoor Woman’s Network, an accomplished marathon canoe racer and a licensed nurse, residing in Austin,Tx. She has taught kayak and canoe instruction and led paddling trips for 10+ years. She holds 2 state championships in aluminum canoe racing, and has placed in various other marathon canoe races, including the Texas Water Safari. She and her paddling partner Kim paddled 260 miles over the entire San Marcos River and lower Guadalupe River, ending at the coast at Seadrift ,Texas. This was done over 82 hours with only 6 hours sleep.
Joy also loves to travel in Mexico, including backpacking in Copper Canyon. She is an avid fisherman, including coastal, offshore and fly fishing the mountain streams of northern Georgia. She provides instruction for canoes and kayaks for flat water, touring and coastal waters.
