Texas Trails Paddling

Explore the local waterways on a river trip!

Four to six hour river trip with instruction.  Enjoy the pristine escape into our local waterways as you learn proper paddling techniques, gear and equipment, rescue skills and how to read moving water.  Trips range from beginner to intermediate.  If you have never paddled before we suggest you start with one of the Quickstart lessons on Lady Bird Lake.

El Camino Real Trail – Bastrop, Colorado River
Location: Bastrop Fisherman’s park to Tahitian village, Colorado River
Description: 6 mile paddle from Fisherman’s park to Tahitian village. *beginner
Two or more individuals: $65 per person
Private lesson: $95
Included in cost: PFD, Kayak or Tandem Canoe, Paddle, and Instruction
Available weeknights May to September and weekends year round!

Wilbarger Paddling Trail – Colorado River
Start time: 9:00 AM meet at Highway 969 bridge
Location: Highway 969 to Bastrop Fisherman’s Park, Colorado River
Description: 14 mile paddle ending near downtown Bastrop. **Intermediate
Two or more individuals: $125 per person
Private lesson: $195
Included in cost: PFD, Kayak or Tandem Canoe, Paddle, and Instruction
Available weekend days by appointment.

San Marcos River
Overnight camping trip – paddle 16 miles from City Park to Staples with an overnight camp at a local private campground.  Includes shuttles, camping fees, and group meals.  **Intermediate
Cost: Four or more individuals $195 per person includes all paddling and camping gear.  $155 bring your own boat and camping gear.

Guadalupe River
Overnight camping trip – paddle 8 miles from Bergheim to Guadalupe State Park with an overnight camp in the state park campground.  Includes shuttles, camping fees, and group meals.  **Intermediate
Cost: Four or more individuals $195 per person includes all paddling and camping gear.  $155 bring your own boat and camping gear.

*Beginner courses are open to all ages and all skill levels.  **Intermediate courses are taught on moving water and require paddling experience or successful completion of a Quickstart with noted mastery of basic skills.

Youth Group River Trips/Instruction
Do you have a youth group, Boyscout or Girlscout group that would like to work on their kayaking or canoeing merit badges?  We can provide flatwater skills training, presentations and river trip guiding for your group.
