Aloha paddlers!
The Expedition School brings you Austin’s 6th annual Colorado River Ramble!
Benefitting The Expedition School Fund & the Colorado River Alliance! Join us! All paddler’s welcome on Sunday, June 28th, 2015!

Events include:
SUP, Canoe, and Kayak Race for all!
Colorado River Alliance Family Water Festival
Live Music

FREE SUP, Canoe, and Kayak lessons

Bring the entire family to paddle, cheer on the racers, and learn about the Colorado River at the Colorado River Alliance Water Festival!

WHO:
Everyone is encouraged to participate – beginner and competitive paddlers, children and families welcome! Kids racers age 4-11 must paddle tandem with an adult or, they can register for our Kids 1K SUP, canoe, and/or kayak race @ 12noon! Racers 12 years or older may sign up to race solo in the 1.5 mile, 5k, 10k race. There is a Junior class category = ages 12-17 years of age.

WHERE:
Start Line: The Expedition School launch in the lagoon in Fiesta Gardens – 34 Robert Martinez Drive, Austin, TX 78702. Plenty of parking is available on site in the parking lot near the baseball fields and along the street.

WHEN:
Race Day is Sunday, June 28th, 2015 at 9AM!

HOW & WHEN TO REGISTER
Online registration is open thru 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 26th, 2015. All registrants who register through this time will qualify for placement awards in the respected race (1st place, etc.) and, will be timed. Online registration accepts all major credit cards.

Onsite registration is available during packet pick up on Friday, June 26th, 2015, from 12pm – 7:00pm @ The Expedition School. All registrants who register through this time will qualify for placement awards in the respected race (1st place, etc.) and, will be timed. Onsite registration accepts cash or all major credit cards.

Same Day Registration, Sunday, June 28th, 2015 is available from 7am – 8am @ The Expedition School. Note: Same Day Race day registration prices increase by $10 for all categories – and, will not be eligible to be timed or qualify for an award. Same day registration accepts cash or all major credit cards.

RACE COURSE:

• Kids 1K Races will start and end in the lagoon – doing one full lap around the lagoon! The finish line will be in front of the grandstands. There is plenty of spectator space to cheer the kids on!
• 1.5 mile course will start in the lagoon and continue under the red bridge onto Lady Bird Lake. Paddlers will cross the lake and make a left turn around the buoy on the other side of the lake. Paddlers will then circumnavigate Bird Island and return to the lagoon and do one full lap around buoys. The finish line will be in front of the grandstands in lagoon!
• 5K course will start in the lagoon and continue under the red bridge onto Lady Bird Lake. Paddlers will take a sharp right, heading west towards the i-35 bridge pylon. Paddlers will round the last pylon (most west pylon) of the bridge and, return heading east. Paddlers will then circumnavigate Bird Island rounding the marked buoys and return to the lagoon and do one full lap around buoys. The finish line will be in front of the grandstands.
•10K course will start in the lagoon and continue under the red bridge onto Lady Bird Lake. Paddlers will take a sharp right, heading west towards the i-35 bridge pylon. Paddlers will round the last pylon (most west pylon) of the bridge and, return heading east. Paddlers will then circumnavigate Bird Island rounding the marked buoys and return to the lagoon and do one full lap around buoys. Paddlers will circumnavigate the lagoon once more returning to the course repeating it for a 2nd time. Paddlers return to lagoon doing one full lap around the buoys. The finish line will be in front of the grandstands.
