Riviera Maya Expedition Tentative Itinerary

Thursday: Arrive Cancun, Mexico.

Shuttle pick-up and 1.5 hour drive to Akumal, Mexico
Check-in @ beachfront cabanas
Cocktail party and delicious Mexican dinner to follow
Attend evening lecture with Paul Sanchez-Navarro of Centro Ecologico Akumal

Friday: Enjoy breakfast on Akumal Bay
Kayak and explore the wetlands of the old Mayan trading routes inside of the UNESCO world heritage biosphere, Centro Ecologico Sian Ka’an (CESiaK) – viewing firsthand the flora and fauna that persist in these international protected waters.

Lunch at CESiaK

Afternoon siesta

Sunset on Akumal Bay

Dinner and lecture on Sea Turtles to follow.
*Optional night snorkeling available in Akumal Bay.
**You may substitute kayaking for a day of fly fishing inside the
biosphere for an extra fee – bonefish, tarpon, permit, jack, and
barracuda persist in these protected waters

Saturday:  Breakfast
Snorkel in a turquoise lagoon inside the Natural Park, Xel-ha –
which means “where the water is born”.
Lunch
Explorative hike in the Mayan Ruins of Tulum
Cocktails and dinner in Akumal, Bay

Sunday:  Breakfast
Shuttle to Cancun for the return journey home.
